Want to hear a cool story?!

Destiny, Ak, and I went to one of the biggest malls in South Africa for our first day of debrief. We just walked around nothing big happened. The WiFi wasn’t working well enough for us to really do anything on it. So we decided to get an Uber back to where we are staying. Two Uber drivers canceled on us and there is not many Uber drivers in South Africa. So we were looking at the screen praying we can get an Uber, who isn’t weird (a whole other story there ha), and we could have good conversations. Then after a couple of minutes we got accepted by a driver.

When we got into the car the three of us were just rambling about random things for about 5 minutes till our driver chuckled at one of our comments. I asked him how his Sunday was and what he had done so far. He said he went to church and it was good. Destiny responded from the back “You love Jesus too!” Garth, our driver, responded back “Funny you ask that. The pastor was talking today about if you love Jesus or are you falling in love with Jesus.” A long story short. We find out this is Garth’s first time going to church in 20 years. He had a dream Thursday about getting a phone call and a voice that sounded just like his Father. The person on the phone called him by name and told him to go to church on Sunday. The dream felt so real he went downstairs of his home to see if anyone was there or if he had gotten a phone call. The next day while ubering a truck pulled out in front him. Other then trying to figure out how not to have a wreck the main thing going on in his head was “I am going to meet the man who called me last night.” He said he told his family and they thought he might be going crazy. However that night he had another dream of the father calling him by name and telling him to go to church. Now he was in a Uber with three missionaries. Our jaws were dropped because Garth was being pursed so much by God. We encourage him to continue listening to the voice and to have a relationship with Jesus. We talked about his family and his life for a while outside of our house. When we went to leave he got out of his car and said he felt like he should give us all a hug because we were definitely sent by God. He had tears in his eyes and RADIATING with Jesus.

What is crazy if we got WiFi at the mall, if any of the other Uber drivers accepted, if we left earlier we would have missed this yet God had us in the car. These small moments are one of the reason our God is so freaking cool!

Its cool seeing what God will do and can do!

P.S. When I got back to where we were staying. A squad mate found a Dr.Pepper for me and had in the fridge when I got back! It was a great day!!
