Lakota, Kooter, Kootz, Lakooter

This girl threw me for a loop! Upon first meeting (I think our first real conversation was after we were assigned to be teammates), I didn’t know what to think of Lakota. She was quiet and shy. Slow to speak and speaking little when she did. I desired to learn from her as she mentioned that she had the gift of tongues, but I thought this girl was just a reserved woman of few words.

Boy, did she prove me wrong! Lakota is not only one of the strongest people I have known on this Race, but she is also witty, helpful and intensely loyal. She is the friend you want to lay your head on when you’re sad and is always willing to serve in whatever capacity is needed. Her servant’s heart has been a huge inspiration to me as she exemplifies the way Jesus served to me and everyone she meets. She feels deeply for everyone from the children we see at ministry to the dogs we encounter on the streets.

I think I pretty much covered her three words she wants to be her identifiers in this post, which shows just how she really does exude these things. I also did a photoshoot with her exemplifying her gentle, warm-hearted side – Lakota is a comforter and a calming presence in times of turmoil, and I hope that is seen through this post.

compassionate, strong, friend
