This post marks the beginning of a new series: The Identity Project. I’m going to spend the next week highlighting each of my teammates + who they are. I love them a lot + I can’t wait to use this as an opportunity to brag on them. Enjoy!

Jessie, Jessie L., JL, Jessica
She is sweet, childlike, and thoughtful. She loves scrunchies, the color pink, and dancing to O Lei Lei. At training camp, my first impression of her was that this girl is a real-life fairy. She would stop on our way to sessions just to pick yellow wildflowers and she literally found bubbles in her jacket one day.
But, let me tell you more of what I’ve learned about who Jessie really is. She is a fiercely strong woman. Don’t let her sweet demeanor or her love for children’s books fool you – like the snow, she can be gentle and delicate or have the force of a powerful blizzard. She challenges those around her to step into their best selves and choose words that have worth. She advocates for herself and for those who can’t. She is curious and seeks truth about our Lord, always asking for more understanding.
I asked her to tell me what three words she wants people to identify her as, so below I have some photos of her in all her outward, childlike joy along with the words that give you a little more insight to who Jessica Marie Lirios is and strives to be.
