Hello friends!!!
I moved to Lesotho last week and as much as I hoped wifi would be more of a thing here, it just isn’t. Also, charging my devices isn’t a thing (rip camera battery).
On the eighth of October, M squad packed up from our week of debrief in Nelspruit, South Africa hopped on a bus for almost twelve hours and here we are! Team Eliora and team Kingdom Come (another team of six girls) are living together this month!
Let me give you a glimpse of what our daily life has looked like so far:
6:00am Wake up.
6:30-7:00 Morning walk/hike.
7:00-8:00 Quiet time.
8:00-9:00 Breakfast. Usually porridge that I add way to much sugar on & instant coffee.
9:00-10:00 Walk to the village that we are serving in.
10:00am-12:30 Ministry.
12:30-1:30 Walk home.
1:30-2:00 Lunch. (Peanut butter and apricot jelly sandwiches)
2:00-4:00 Manual labor. (We’ve been shoveling dirt the past few days)
4:00-6ish Shower and/or do laundry and/or take a nap.
6ish Dinner.
Ministry this month is with an organization called Africa 4 Jesus and we are sleeping in their church building till about Tuesday, then we will move into the bunk rooms. Our little home has been getting cozier… But the windows don’t close all the way and since the low the other night was 29 degrees it just makes for some very chilly sleeping.

We get to talk to the locals in our village with the help of our translators, Apple and B. The twelve of us pile into their homes that are usually one room, half bedroom half kitchen/ dining room. We read a scripture with them and then ask about things they may need prayer for. Lastly, we help out with all sorts of things around their homes. Such as washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, washing laundry, and just spending time with them. And it’s fun because we get to spend this amount of intentional time with them everyday for a full month!

Yesterday we had the opportunity to talk to a women who is 106 years old.
Yep. 106 years old.

Her prayer requests involved her well being so that she could live longer in the flesh. Then we got to share with her Romans 8:1-11. We shared the hope of how we don’t have to walk according to our flesh, now that the Spirit of God dwells in us. And how we don’t have to worry because now that He lives in us, we get to live forever with Him.
We were not created for this place.
And how especially sweet it was to share with her a hope that goes way beyond this earth.
I love ya’ll and I already can’t wait to share about the things the Lord is going to do this month!
Em 🙂
