Hey y’all! I’m Emma Redmon from Thompsons Station, Tennessee, and God has called me to do World Race Gap Year! Along with my squad, I will be spending nine months in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Ethiopia, and Cambodia! I am 17 years old, and a senior at Independence High School. I had an upbringing unlike most, due to the fact that I was a missionary kid. I was born in Thailand, and then spent the first nine years of my life in China. Those experiences shaped me to be a well-rounded, God loving girl who can easily adapt to any environment. In 2011, my family left the mission field, and we have been living in Tennessee ever since! After coming back, some aspects of returning to the United States were difficult. I wasn’t used to public school, or even being around people who were fluent in the same language as I was. The summer after my sophomore year in 2017, I was feeling led to take a missions trip through my church to Guatemala, and it changed my mindset for my future. It was during that trip that I realized that missions was my calling. I am so excited for this journey ahead of me, and I pray that it will be forever life changing!
