A word the Lord has put on my heart a lot recently is perseverance. It took perseverance for my squad to come together and build a house. To hammer the nails, put up the walls, paint everything, and put on the roof. It took a heart of service to come day after day and pour ourselves out however we could so we could make sure a family came home to a place they could joyfully call home.

Yet, I saw the joy of the Lord and unity in our squad though we were enduring through a hard task.

I think the reason this word has been so highlighted is because the race is coming to an end. In 24 days we will no longer be around each other 24/7. In 24 days we can’t just play games, watch movies or serve alongside each other like we have done for what feels like much longer than 9 months. Yes, the last part of the race takes endurance. It takes giving your all and remembering that the same God is with you before, during, and after your race.

It’s easy to endure worldly trails when you think about heaven and worshiping  for all eternity with your brothers and sisters to a worthy God. Also, Abba reminded me how its also easier to endure hard days of building a house when you think of giving the keys to a sweet, small family that needs a house so much. You sweat and give and sacrifice because you know you are pouring out the little you bring so that you may give to others. You give blood, sweat, and tears to serve and you sacrifice all you have when you remember how much more Christ gave for us then we gave for the foundation of this home.

Thanks for reading my thoughts!
I challenge you to see how you can fix your gaze on heavenly things whatever you have to persevere through in this season of your life.
