UPDATE
I had been feeling a little uneasy about CGA the last few days and couldn't figure out why. I knew that I was supposed to go, but something was a little off. I couldn't get peace about it until finally 2 days ago, I heard God tell me that I hadn't prayed about the amount of time He wanted me there. AND I didn't. I just picked a time frame and that was that. So then I asked Him how long He wanted me to be there and I heard 4 months so I said ok. Made the changes that were necessary and now here I am writing this blog. Haha.
So, instead of doing 8 months at CGA, I will be doing 4 months. All the details of CGA are below, the only difference now is the amount that I must raise for CGA. Right now, I am at $1,042 and need $1,200 by September 13th.
I have to have a total of $2,400 for the 4 months that I am there. If you feel led to support me, then you can click on the support me link to the left on this page. Any little bit helps…$10 is = $100. It is all accepted graciously.
As for after CGA, I am not sure yet. We will cross that bridge when we get to it:) Thank you all for just loving me and believing in me. I am blessed by y'alls encouragement and am excited to continue this journey with all of you.
Once upon a time, a young woman was asked by her Father to go to other countries and love on people. What she didn't know was that not only would she would learn how to love others the way that Jesus did, but she learned how to love herself. She learned that before she could love others, she must learn how to love herself first.
She learned a lot about her value and self-worth. She learned how loved she was by her heavenly Father. She learned that she was adored by Him. She learned about the gifts that He had blessed her with. She learned a lot about what it meant to follow Christ instead of the world. The thing is that once she returned to America, she wanted to continue learning about these things and also more about being a disciple of Christ, and her Father knew it. He knew what her heart desired, so He presented her with an opportunity called CGA– Center for Global Action.
Center for Global Action is a discipleship, apprenticeship, and internship program through AIM (Adventures in Missions), it's based out of Georgia. People who sign up for this program either sign up for 4, 8, or 12 months. I have signed up for 8 months. I will be a part of the leadership track that they offer.
What does this mean?
A basic schedule would look like this: 9am-5pm. 5 days a week. The first half of the day, I will be interning in the AIM office depending on whichever field I choose. The second half of the day, I will be taking a few classes to better equip myself for leadership on the field and in life. There is a possibility that I could lead a few trips out onto the field while doing this.
How much do I have to raise?
I have to raise $3600 for the full 8 months but I must have $900 in by September 16th. I am already at $387.84 (praise Jesus!).
Where does the money that my lovely sponsors (y'all) will give, go?
Other than supporting me in pursuing Kingdom dreams…hehe….each month will cost $450. So, I will receive $200 of that for food, bills, and anything extra that may be required within that month. The other $250 will go towards my housing (I will be living in a community house with women….yay community!), and any extra bills for the housing, amenities, etc.
What are my dreams?
To love on college kids. To be a part of their lives and just mentor them in some way. To show them their value and their worth the way that the Father showed me out on the field.
How will I do this?
Open up a coffee shop…..ooooooo yeaaaaa. If you know me, then you know that coffee has a pretty big spot in my heart. Don't worry, Jesus is first, then it's coffee.
Therefore, I believe that CGA will help me to solidify the things that I have learned this past year, as well as, better equip me for pursuing my dreams.
