Welcome to the Philippines! We are staying in a little mountain church about an hour outside of Manila. We travel place to place on jeepneys and spend a majority of our free time up here crocheting. Ministry is different everyday. The past week we taught in an elementary school down the road. You would think we would be helping to tutor kids in English, but no, we became Tagalog teachers. Every morning we would work one on one with a student to help them read and work on comprehension questions. Did we ever have any idea what the readings were about or if the kids were answering the questions right? Not really. But we did have an awesome opportunity to spread the love of Jesus to an entire school. The last day that we were at the school we got to go into the classrooms and teach a lesson. I was able to talk to some grade four and grade five students about achieving their dreams and pursuing the good plans God has for them. So fun. Not only does that spread Jesus to the kids, it is a form of ministry that is so life-giving to me. Hopefully we will get to spend some more time with that school before we leave, but for now we are doing all sorts of manual labor. WOMANistry month is killer. Loving it too much. JUST ONE WEEK UNTIL PVT! Pray for the next week, that myself and my team is able to focus as such an exciting time is looming right around the corner! As always, sending all the love from the Philippines.
