The pineapple
This morning we went out to the town square of parromos to do something we call a.t.l (ask the Lord). This is an act of faith and understanding what is from the Lord, something we have been practicing while on the race. As we were in groups of about five praying for a word, vision, picture, or feeling, a pineapple prominently appeared in my thoughts. At first I joked about it being only because I was hungry and my love for pineapples, but I wasn’t about to doubt the Lord and what He can do. We began walking around and prayed over people that the Lord led us to, as we were walking I noticed a smoothie stand with two large pineapples. I immediately felt drawn to the woman behind the stand making smoothies so we started to make conversation with her, asking her about her business. The conversation soon took a turn as Jesus began speaking through my words asking her about her faith. Within 15 minutes she was praying a prayer out loud, accepting the Lord in her heart. “Wow” am I right?! We celebrated with her and rejoiced in the fact that this daughter just joined her Fathers kingdom. We then got to bless her and her business by buying smoothies.
The Lord says ask and you will receive, when we go to the Lord with a heart posture of knowing He is present, He will show up. Sometimes we ask the Lord things but don’t actually expect Him to reply, we go to Him with doubt behind our words and then question Him when we don’t hear from Him. The Lord knows our thoughts and our words before we speak them, but the Lord wants to see our faith in Him by asking and being ready to receive. He’s always present but waits for us to reach out to Him. What if I had doubted the pineapple that appeared in my thoughts? I would’ve been doubting the Lord and doubted what He can do through the thoughts he gives me. Sometimes we expect to hear certain words and see certain things from the Lord, but the Lord can be so simple and we can be so complicated. All he asks from us is to be available and to have faith when we ask from Him.
