Opportunity comes knocking at the door… Do you peek and ignore or do you open the door wide and let it walk in? Well SURPRISE opportunity has knocked and I am saying, “Come on in!”
My mentor and friend, Jodi Oehlke, has a company she has been working on and I have had the privilege of working with her on it, called Backpacker Church. This coming year Backpacker Church is setting up a trip to Israel, where the participants will help with Humanitarian Aid, as well as self educating on the history of the country, God’s country.
The opportunity was brought to me by Jodi basically saying, “You’re coming to do video work… Right?!” After deciding to pray about it, the next day I talked to our Race coach Ruth and she saw my excitement and told me I should do it despite my fears of not being able to raise the money or my parents not being too excited for me to leave after only being home for a month after the Race …and raising the money in less than 3 months. But I said yes to God then and there.
While in Israel we will be working with Humanitarian Aid ministries such as:
Bridges for Peace: Misc. outreaches
Joseph Storehouse: Holocaust survivors
Jewish Voice Today: Medical outreaches
Bead Chaim Pregnancy Care Center: Orphanages and state run centers of asylum seekers
Various Local Messianic Congregations
My goal is to raise $5,000-$6,000 to help with transport, housing, food, education and ministry. Partner with me to help make a difference in our world.
