Keep. It. Simple. Stupid.
So often we forget the simple things in life… especially how easily our bodies do what they do, we neglect to notice that these things are a blessing. Here in Cambodia we have a friend named Chuey, he is 24 and paralyzed. We visit him every day of the week, we have pity on him but I pity us… because too many times we forget the simplicity of being able to walk. I can walk!!! It is so normal for us yet an old concept for him having been paralyzed for the past two to three years after a construction accident. We have been blessed yet we miss this blessing from God because it’s “normal.” It’s so SIMPLE yet we just overlook it, might our eyes be opened to see more.
If the Lord chooses my team and our contacts to fully restore our friend I will consider it an honor to be used for His Kingdom. But if not, I will not consider it any loss because it is not for me that it is being done but for our friend so that he may know the love God has for him. That he may dance again but to rejoice in what God has done for him!!!
Pray for Chuey with us, he is already coming to church now which is so crazy awesome!!! Restoration of the soul has begun, now lets pray for the Holy Spirit to bestow more upon him.
Our goal: Make God Known.
5 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.”
6 But some of the teachers of religious law who were sitting there thought to themselves, 7 “What is he saying? This is blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!”
8 Jesus knew immediately what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you question this in your hearts? 9 Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk’? 10 So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, 11 “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”
