DELIVER ME!  I DON’T WANT THIS!!

That was a lot of what I was thinking last night as I laid in my bed for about 3 hours nauseated and in abdominal pain.  We went to some falls yesterday and most likely I accidentally drank some of the water… oops, DON’T DO THAT PEOPLE!!!  After having laid in bed for 3 hours it got worse, I actually started throwing up… I haven’t thrown up this badly since I got the flu in Junior High!  That lasted for about 3.5 hours, I had nothing left in me and the water/ Gatorade I was trying to drink would not stay down.  But my anthem as I sat crouched across from the toilet on the bathroom floor was the Doxology…

Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost
Aaaaaaaaaammmmmennnn. 🙂

You may think I’m crazy to have been praising God while vomiting in a toiled, but I did it…. and here’s why.  Praise God because I KNOW he will deliver me from this pain.  Praise God because he is STILL HERE despite my hurt.  Praise God because HE IS MY FIRST AND LAST RESORT.  Praise God because this is all but TEMPORARY.  Praise God because this morning I am weak but I AM NOT SICK ANYMORE (our host said it could last 24hrs).  Praise God because I KNEW he could do that!  and Praise God because IT IS NOT ABOUT ME.

Now you may be asking how my first thought was to praise God in the first place… Well I have been reading through the Psalms and David went through worse yet still praised God for what he has done, what he was doing, and what he was going to do.  With that plastered in my mind from reading it every day since we got here, I couldn’t help myself.  What good would it be to think I was on my own and that God, for my “stupidity” of accidentally drinking some of the water, would leave me to deal with this on my own.  He was in the back and front of my mind and I was thankful for what happened.  My body was purged of sickness and hurt and now I may be weak but my body is stronger than it would have been.  I may have been vomiting, but I didn’t have diarrhea with it… Praise God for that, yuck!  I also realized during the time while I was feeling sick, if anyone else had been sick I would have asked God if I could take the burden from them, so instead of having to ask I got it.  Hahaha God is funny like that sometimes.

All in all, I will Praise God with everything I have, even when I have nothing left, even when I can’t bare to speak.  I Love you Abba!
