Month two has been a whirlwind and we are already less than a week away from our flight to Malawi. I haven’t posted a blog in a while and I am terrible at facebook updates, so here is what we have been up to the past few weeks.

After arriving in Dragonesti-Olt, Romania we spent a couple days resting and growing accustomed to our new home. Not long after arriving in Romania we began our journey to Thessaloniki, Greece, where we were given the opportunity to join our contact for a week of ministry. Our squad split up to work with a few different contacts in Greece, doing work ranging from street evangelism, to helping Raul (our Romania contact) find new partners and contacts. I got the chance to work alongside Pastor Paul, a Nigerian man working to bring the Gospel to more people in Greece. It was a blessing to learn from him, encourage him, and of course get a small taste of the Nigerian church.

Our week in Greece went so fast, but after returning to Romania I realized how quickly the entire month has gone. With the trip to Thessaloniki we really only get 2 weeks of ministry in Dragonesti. Our time has been full of worship, prayer, and all sorts of different ministry opportunities. We have traveled to neighboring villages to hand out bibles, played soccer with the youth, cleaned up the streets, ministered to widows, helped lay bricks, and more. One of my favorite memories was the day we handed out Bibles in a village about 45 minutes away. We stepped out of the bus ready to bring the Gospel to the streets. Our first stop was a group of older men and women socializing outside their homes. We gave them each a Bible, prayed for them, and accepted an invitation to visit one woman’s home. She gave us each a cold drink and let us pick grapes from her yard. We prayed over them before leaving and walked back up the street, once again passing the small group of people we had already visited. It was so encouraging to watch as we walked by this group and saw them not socializing, but scouring the pages of their new Bibles. I don’t know what they were thinking or if they have read the Word before, but I pray that seeds were planted and their lives are changed by the Gospel.
