This morning I opened up facebook and took a quick scroll through my newsfeed. Now, I can’t stop smiling.

As I look through facebook, I see the faces of many new and old friends. A very dear friend of mine is engaged. My old Bible study group is reuniting through the interwebs, attempting to study together from 3 different continents. My teammate’s blog is being posted all over, encouraging people she has never met. Friends are recently baptized. I can see the faces of the beautiful family I grew to love so much in Cambodia. I see Jesus.

Yup…Jesus uses facebook too!

As I embark on this journey with the Lord, life outside the race goes on.

The Lord has been speaking these things to me since before the race, and for that, I am grateful. He continuously reminds me that this is not about me. This year of life is not about me; it’s not about service, growth, or adventures. This year is about Him. This year is about what God is doing, and sometimes He uses facebook to remind me of that.

Today, and everyday, I am celebrating how great our God is. I am celebrating the marriages, babies, new friends, re-births, encouraging words, adventures, and more. I am celebrating because God orchestrated these things in His perfect timing.  I am celebrating because He knows our hearts. I am celebrating because I see Him all around me, even through the internet.

Psalm 146:1-2

“Hallelujah! My soul, praise the Lord. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I live.”
