Over the past few months I have kinda been putting off writing my support letter. I have developed a fear that this trip is just some sort of dream that I will someday wake up from. With recent events that have been going on in my life I decided to put it off no longer. There hasn’t been a time where I felt more willing and able to leave and let the Lord work his magic in my life. With that this is my support letter.
Dearest Friends and Family,
If you have received this letter that means that you have played an important role in my life. As many of you know I have always grown up in the church and loved being apart of the different things that it has to offer, whether it be singing and leading worship, teaching Sunday School, or going on mission trips with my youth group. As the end of my high school career was quickly approaching I found myself being called to be apart of something bigger than I ever had been before. I am apart of Adventures in Missions World Race 2017 Gap Year Program.
The World Race Gap Year Program is a 9 month trip that takes young adults to 5 different countries and 3 different continents. I myself have chosen route 6 which is allowing me to go to, China, Mongolia, Ecuador, Zambia, and Malawi. Throughout the World Race my group will be partnering with churches and ministries in local communities to spread the unending love of our lord and savior. My life will simply become whatever I can fit into my fifty pound backpack.
I will face many challenges along the race, emotional, mental, and physical, but one of my biggest challenges happens before I even step onto the field. I must raise $15,000 dollars in order for me to be able to go on this trip. This $15,000 will cover all expenses having to do with my trip including, flights, food, shelter, and insurance.
With this letter I ask if you would please consider supporting my dream of serving others who need help. Whether you decide you are able to support me once a month or as a one time thing every penny is immensely appreciated. If you would like to donate to me online please visit my blog (http://emmaevans.theworldrace.org). Once you are there all you have to do is click the orange “Donate!” box on the right side and then follow the instructions. You can also visit my blog if you are interested in hearing about my journey leading up to the trip and during the trip. I do try and update as much as possible (blogging can be difficult sometimes). Another option for you to donate to me is to make checks payable to Adventures in Missions and send to P.O. Box 742570, Atlanta, Georgia 30374-2570. *Please write my full name, Emma Evans, on the memo line of the check!*
Throughout the next few months I will be selling shirts, bracelets, and other random fundraisers that I haven’t thought of yet. Also if you ever need a babysitter or a dogsitter (I love both so much) please contact me!!! I am always happy to help those that need it and make a few extra bucks on the side. Please follow my blog so you are able to stay up to date with what is going on with my life. I would also like to see as many of you as possible before I leave whether it’s lunch or just some coffee. You all mean so much to mean and I cannot thank you enough for the love and support you have all poured into me over the years.
With much love,
Emma Evans
I haven’t sent out anything yet. I am working on getting all of the addresses on the envelopes, which is a super long and time consuming process. Soon, with a little help from the music off my Spotify, all of the letters will be mailed out reaching all of my friends and family.
