Hellllooooo beautiful people! This is my blog for the World Race! I’ll be updating this pretty often throughout my fundraising process and while in the Philippines! First order of business, I have TONS of jewelry I’m selling to fundraise for this trip. Check out @emsworldracefunds on Insta or text me for pictures! Second, I’m selling T-SHIRTS!! I’ll be posting them on social media and placing an order as soon as I get enough sales.

Many of you are probably wondering why I decided to take a month long trip to the Philippines this summer, and I’m here to tell ya!

Since I was young, I felt a calling to do missions. Serving is something that brings me great joy-especially because the Lord gave me the gift. I found out about the Race from watching my YoungLife leader throughout her time on the trip and I FELL IN LOVE! Originally, I wanted to take a gap year and do the 9-month long trip, but that was going to be hard with my schedule. Sooo, I found the Semesters opportunity and took full advantage of it! When I began the application process, I knew I wanted to go on a trip that had medical missions, considering I want to be a dental missionary. When I found this trip to the Philippines, I knew it was what the Lord was calling me to do. I didn’t hesitate, I said YES! I applied immediately and told my parents about it a couple days later, and the Lord was so faithful to help me go on this trip that my parents also said YES!

What will I be doing in the Philippines?

In the Philippines, my squad and I will be partnering alongside Kids International Ministries (KIM) to help meet the needs of abandoned children and show them the Lord’s goodness. Alongside that, we will be serving in nurseries, build relationships with children, tutoring, serving in a birthing clinic (SO COOL), assisting with disaster relief, and helping to identify people who need medical care.

Faithfulness throughout the College transition

Once I applied, I had a little “freak” moment, as I like to call it. I realized I would be gone for a month. This is longer than any other trip I’ve been on. I began to think about college and how I come home most weekends, so I started to pray and ask the Lord how I was going to succeed for a month on this mission field, and you know what He said? He said “My strength, not your own.” And that has stuck with me throughout this process and I know it will be the light to guide me when all else feels lost. I could have easily said no to this trip and ignored what the Lord was calling me to do, but He has grown me so much since I came up to App that I know He is going to continue to grow me in the Philippines.

What can you do to help?

First, PRAYER! My team and I are currently in the process of raising a lot of money and preparing our hearts for what the Lord is going to use us and teach us in the Philippines, so prayer is a necessity. Second, I have a LOT of money I have to fundraise. I’m selling a lot of handmade items and t-shirts, but I also have a link you can donate directly to. Third, if you would like to send encouragement throughout this process, do not hesitate to send a text or a letter to me! My P.O Box for Appalachian is below:
