Hey there!! Happy to have you reading! Recently I have been challenged to change my perspective of God and creation in terms of Art. A couple of my friends are artists, like actual artists, one of them just finished illustrating a book, as a senior in high school. I, however, am not an artist, not one bit. But they all do art together and find so much peace and joy from creating, so I figured why not try it? Right before I went out to buy my first sketchbook, my friend told me to look through her book called Art Before Breakfast. One page that I read talked about how all of your sketches, mistakes and all create art, compared to paintings in a museum which are Art. I emphasize the small a because the art you create is made for nothing other than yourself. However, I believe that creation and everything in it is Art. God’s beautiful and perfect masterpiece. Do you hear that? You are a masterpiece. God is THE artist, He created Art, He created creativity, He created color. God has created you, and he does not make mistakes.
I would also like to take this a step further and talk about mediums of art. We view mediums as different materials used to create art. But I think God has a whole different special medium, us. By using us God has created a whole different level of art. Think about how complex your body is. Now think about how complex the body next to you is. Only an artist could replicate a design over one billion times, but tweak it just a tad so that not everybody worked the same. Think about feelings and emotions its so crazy that we can feel things like anger, love, and joy because of chemicals in our brains. Only an artist could craft feeling from nothing. Lastly connection. Everything is connected. The Earth is one big giant puzzle and all of us are connected. Go outside. Look at your planet. Now try to tell me that nothing is connected. In our lives we have connections, people we care about, people we don’t like. We still have a connection, they are still known to you.
