Craiova
Month one, we are living together as a squad at “the villa”. The villa is a three story house close to downtown Craiova. We live with our host and his family as well as another missionary couple. The house is really cute and has a gorgeous spiral staircase. (see picture)

On ministry days, we arrive at the office by 9:30am to start our morning devotions. After devos, we have a structured group time from 10:00am to 12:00pm. In this time we have either a teaching, prayer, discussion, intercession, or something else our host wants. At 12:00 we take a lunch break. During that break we come home, eat lunch, and have team time. At 3:00pm we all part ways from the ministry office to do our specific ministry. We have several small ministry groups that consist of 2+ racers, a long-term missionary, and a leader (the leaders rotate so they get to see all of our ministries).
My racer partner is Megan and our Long-term missionary is Emanuel and his wife Eli. They are incredible people that offer so much wisdom. Right now, Megan and I’s main goal in ministry is to find people that Emanuel and Eli will be able to pour into and disciple when we leave.
Our ministry days are sometimes not very successful (meaning that there are only older Romanians that don’t want to talk to us because we don’t speak Romanian) and we end up learning from them as we walk around the zoo (they casually have a zoo inside a public park) or as we try new Romanian foods that Eli was shocked we hadn’t tried yet.
Our job as racers is to support the goals and efforts of the long-term missionaries in order to create sustainable ministry. As my squad-mates post about their ministries I will link them here so you can see what my whole squad is doing.
After month one debrief my team and another team will move from Craiova to Draganesti- Olt for month 2 and 3. While it has been a great experience living with my whole squad and doing ministry together, I am excited to see what we will be doing in Draganesti.
