Early one morning I decided to have some alone time with Jesus on the front porch. No joke as soon as I sat down in my chair the two lil dogs started barking, which was normal, but extremely loud. Then all of a sudden I see the hosts’ horse running up the hill at full speed. He was frantic.

Not knowing what to do I grabbed a couple of friends and we decided to attempt to get him back into his stable.

He trotted back down the hill so we followed him there. We brainstormed different plans.

We decided maybe we should lasso him with the rope, or place a trail of mangos to his stable. But we were unsuccessful. Every time we stepped in his direction, he would run further and further away.

However I could tell he wanted to go back to his stable. It was like he wanted the comfort he just wasn’t ready yet.

Then our host came and he told us to go up the stairs and give him his space and when he was ready he would go back in.

It made me think of all the times I have run away from God. How I think there’s freedom in making my own plans and doing things my way, apart from God. While in reality it leaves me unsatisfied. Empty.  Scared.

You guys…Jesus is a gentlemen, He doesn’t force us to follow Him. He gives us the freedom to chose to follow him. He even patiently waits for us to return home (Luke 15:11-31) It’s a beautiful story.

In doing life with Him there is freedom, joy, fun, and adventure.

In His arms we are cared for, supported, and loved so well. I’m done running away. I’m done with thinking my ways are better than His.

I’m beyond stoked for the adventures that await these next 11 months and the rest of my life.

(Galatians 4 and 5 talks all about the freedom we have in Him, if you wanna check those out.)

P.S.- I LOVE it here. So many animals..chickens, roosters, ducks, goats, horses, cows, dogs, lizards, etc. Palm trees everywhere, bright colored buildings, loud Spanish music playing at ALL times. Also beautiful mountains to look at. Thanks for getting me here y’all..I’m already learning SO MUCH!!!

P.S.S- WiFi isn’t really a thing here so you won’t be hearing from me too often, love y’all so much 🙂
