Here is a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down and I’d like to take a minute just sit right there I’ll tell you how I became a princess of my Heavenly Father…

In Alpharetta Georgia born and raised at Ocee Park is where I spent most of my days. Chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all cool and all playing some kick the can after school. When a couple of girls who were up to some good invited me to go to church with them. I got in a bible study group and my friend got excited she said “Jesus is moving in your heart I can feel Him in the air.”

I began my journey with God in high school. Both my father, mother and I started attending church regularly. I experienced God in a new and exciting way and learned how personal and loving He is. Both my father and I got baptized and made Jesus our Lord and Savior around the same time. Thankfully when you are a Jesus follower He extends grace and forgiveness to you even when you don’t deserve it.

I attended Georgia Southern University and graduated a couple of years ago with a degree in Child and Family Development. At times I felt like I had to earn my new friends’ acceptance by fitting in. So often I did things to earn God’s acceptance as well. What I had forgotten was that Jesus had already accepted me for who I was. I didn’t have to clean myself up or do things to earn His love because He had already shown me His love through sending us His son, Jesus.

After graduating college, I started my internship and entered the “real world.” During that time I received the worst news of my entire life, that my dad had died. His death was a complete shock to me and boy is grief tough! I am eternally grateful that my dad had put his faith in God because I know without a doubt that he is now enjoying perfect paradise and fellowship with our sweet Jesus in Heaven.

During that time I turned to God a lot, I had so many questions but I knew that He still remained good. After I completed my internship and moved back home reality had hit, my dad isn’t here and he wasn’t coming back. I sought counsel and help from my church and the Lord provided more than I could have possibly thought or imagined.

After reaching out to a lady that worked at North Point Community Church I landed my job in the preschool. I work alongside some of the sweetest most down to earth people. As well my grief/ biblical counselor has spoken so much truth and wisdom over my life and has helped me heal in so many ways.

It’s crazy the expectations you place on your life and how it actually turns out. I thought I was going to land my dream job right out of college, and dive into my career. God had other plans….I had to surrender my future to Him. I finally did. He kept bringing up the World Race and put it on my heart that I was to go.

Why I am the way that I am

I have two older sisters, one is in Heaven and the other lives in Austell Georgia and is expecting her first child in February. I am literally so excited to be an aunt, eeekk! My sister and I are super duper close and goofy. We have our own made up songs, inside jokes and tell each other literally everything.

Some of my bestest friends in the world are the people that grew up down the street from me. My neighborhood was like one big family so it was cool to experience community like that.

My other best friends that I’ve made were during my college years. They were my roommates, fellow Jesus followers and classmates. Honestly, I wouldn’t have been able to survive college without all the incredible people I met and got to do life with.

Other Random facts

My mind is like an iPod on shuffle and I never know what song is coming up next on the playlist. I am constantly singing songs and I have no clue how they even popped into my head…

I’m sort of kind of in love with ice cream

Otters are my favorite animal, they hold hands with each other so they don’t drift apart from one another, honestly what’s cuter than that?!

I love doing crazy things with my hair like cutting it really short and dying it different colors. Right now my hair is red and I think it is my favorite color yet.

In college, I met these two girls from China on a year-long exchange program with their school. We became bffs and I discovered that I had a heart for people that had different life experiences and cultures from me.

I would not be where I am without the love and support from my family and friends. I have such a great community of friends, neighbors, and coworkers that have molded me into the person that I am today.
