We were walking along the beautiful coastline back to our teammates and it had been the most wonderful day! The sun was shining and we had been exploring The Strand. Walking back I was tired and sunburnt and ready to be back to my things when the wind picked up. The journey earlier that day had been with the wind so it was easy, but now we were fighting it. Wanting to just be back already and tired of fighting where to step I began trailing behind Destiny with my head down. Her every step was outlined in the sand and like a bored child I started stepping in all of her footprints =) It was a fun game! Her steps were different than mine but our feet are the same size so my feet fit! The wind kept knocking me of coarse and I would falter from her path, then scramble to get back on, but i kept trying. This went on for about 5min when the Lord said stop following in Destinys’ footprints, you have your own.
Wow, how often do we try and follow someones else’s path because we don’t want to fight against the wind ourselves? Or we just don’t know where to step without another footprint there to guide us? The Lord has a plan for our lives. Its not always laid out like footprints in the sand you can simply step into. Its a clean beach with wind and rocks and shells. Sometimes you have to fight against animosity or whats “easy”. The Lord wants you reliant on Him, and if you see where to go you could ignore Him. “Its ok Jesus I see where to go, no worries”. He doesn’t conceal the path to be mean he conceals the path so that we are fully and completely dependent on Him.
It is always about the relationship!!! To be in and have dynamic relationship with Jesus. One that breathes and grows and changes and is hard as well as exhilarating. We were made for relationship, and more importantly we were literally made to SHARE in relationship with the Trinity. To share in what They have. Joy, Life, Goodness.
Is you relationship with the Lord dynamic? Have you given Jesus the right to speak into your life?
