MYANMAR SNACK REVIEW

So, Here I am in Myanmar. Hungry, hot, and doing a lot of work. We are in a more remote area here. So that means we have a lot of free time and not much to do with it. So for fun (and partially because I was hungry) I decided to buy a bunch of random snacks in the shacks down the road and review them. I have put them in order from best to worst and compared them to snacks back in America. So this blog is for the bored and curious or the future World Racers coming to Myanmar.

#1 SNACK: CHOCO-PIE

          – This was my overall favorite snack I found at our snack shack. It is basically like a whoopee pie. Two cake circles, with cream filling, covered in chocolate. How could you go wrong?

#2 SNACK: PEANUT CRACKERS

–         This was a true taste of home. They were just like the Ritz peanut butter sandwich.  Love.

#3 SNACK: PILLOWS

-These are chocolate cereals filled with chocolate. It’s kind of like Krave cereal in America. These come in little chip packets and I could eat them all day long.

#4 SNACK: FUN-O’S DOUBLE CHOC COOKIES

-These cookies are like Oreos. Only the filling is also chocolate and then they are dipped in chocolate. Choco-choco-choco-choco-yay!

#5 SNACK: GUESSEN

-Vanilla wafer cookies with chocolate in the middle. Pretty solid but I’m not a huge fan. I didn’t really like wafer cookies before the WR.

#6 SNACK: OH YES!

          – A chocolate layer cake with cream in the middle covered in chocolate. Is this a weird time to tell you I’m not a big fan of chocolate?

#7 SNACK: CHOCOLATE CAKE

-A very plain chocolate cake in the shape of  a muffin. Nothing special here. It was just alright.

#8 SNACK: OVALTINE COOKIES

-The worst chocolate cookie ever. The packaging says it’s a malt cookie but—- BLAH! I took one bite and then threw it at my team mate Levi. I turned them into fighting cookies. Fun to play with. Not fun to eat.

#9 SNACK: BAYIN PEANUT CREAM CRACKERS

-I can honestly tell you I have never not liked a peanut butter snack— Until NOW! These were so bad. They even had a weird metallic after taste. I would not recommend buying these unless you want to give them to people as a prank.

SO- Now picture me surrounded by tons of snack packages. Mostly Choco Pies. That’s real life here in Myanmar.

Thanks for reading friends, family, and strangers!

XOXO,

Emily
