Day 7: The final day.
I say it is the final day but this wasn’t a challenge for only 7 days. I don’t want to for seven days struggle to come up with 5 things I see in myself that I’m "happy" with and thankful
for, blog about them and then move on. I want this to form a healthy habit. I want to learn how to catch myself when I’m tearing myself down, affirm myself, and build myself up. I don’t only want this for myself but I also want it for you, reader, and all
the wonderful humans I know.
We all have tendencies to say small rude comments about ourselves. I am the queen of it. I even turn it into a comedy act. Although, you can only laugh about the things you say about
yourself for so long until you begin to wonder if they are true.
So, with all that being said, I am dedicating this last "love yourself" blog to all of you!
1. You are beautiful. Your wrinkles, roles, stretch marks, "hail" damage, sun spots, acne, loose skin—- yadda yadda blah blah blah. All these things come together to make up you. You
are uniquely made. No one can be you. Only you can. Rock it, own it, cherish it. I have learned to not talk bad about Gods craftsmanship. You are a work of art so treat yourself like it. (Preaching to the choir here)
2. You are smart! Yeah, you might not have won the 5th grade spelling bee and you might not be able to name all the elements in the periodic table but that doesn’t mean you aren’t smart.
Your brain, ideas, thoughts, and options matter.
3. You are important! Stand up for yourself!
4. You are loving, giving, kind, sweet, nice, wonderful, patient, and if you aren’t then start acting like it!
5. You are worth it! No matter what the cost.
I pray that each day we look in the mirror we decide to speak life over ourselves. Quit the self loathing and learn to love what you got.
Xoxo,
Emily
