We all set goals, expectations, and standards for ourselves. We say, “Well if I could just lose 5 pounds” or “If I could just get rid of this acne” or “If I could just run a little faster”— and we finish these sentences with “then I will be happy.”
I’m so tired of putting this pressure on myself. Like if I was only prettier then I would be happy, then I wouldn’t be lonely, then I would feel better, then people would like me more.
I’m tired of waiting for a certain number to pop up on the scale telling me that I look okay.
I’m tired of wishing for a thigh gap and clear skin to feel beautiful. I’m not only tired of wishing for them, but I’m tired of waiting on those things to happen to live my life happily.
I shouldn’t put my life on hold for how the world sees me or how the world says that I should see myself.
So, with all that being said. I have decided to do a 7 day “love yourself challenge.” Everyday, for seven days straight, I will be blogging about 5 things I love about myself. So instead of constantly dissecting myself and looking for what I can improve, I am going to tell myself what I am thankful for THAT I ALREADY POSSESS.
I hope that this will just become a habit. That before I tear myself down, I will build myself up.

Day one:
1. I am thankful for a flexible and strong body that allows me to practice yoga, run, exercise, and move.
2. I love my freckles.
3. I love my heart for people.
4. I am thankful that I have a zeal for life. I want to go, see, do, and live life to the fullest.
5. I am thankful for my sense of humor.

Join in and do your own ‘Love Yourself challenge’!

Xoxo,
Emily
