I don't have internet out here really, but I wanted to update you all with where I am and how I've been.

Right now I'm in Johannesburg, South Africa, and it's about 5:40 AM. The sun is rising and roosters are crowing. I'm sleeping at a place that some of the teams are ministering at, it's a Soccer camp for kids, but there aren't any kids here. We're staying in the dorms here, and I have a room with the other women leaders which has been pretty sweet. So during this in-between time, I'm sleeping on the top bunk of a dorm room, we have running water (most of the time, and I took a cold shower yesterday), electricity (most of the time, it goes out at night), and a LOT of rest time with the squad. Our ministries haven't started yet, so most of my energy has gone towards figuring out logistical things with my other leaders, getting quiet time in the Word, meeting with my teammates, and hanging out with the squad before we all break off into our separate ministries.

My ministry, from what I can tell right now, will be in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, which is the second largest city in Zimbabwe. However, rumor has it that we'll be in “the bush” in an outlying village. So we'll see what that looks like! I know for a fact that I won't really have internet next month, but I'll try to be disciplined in writing Word documents while things happen and post them when I can. The great thing about the World Race, though, is that this could all change in a moments' notice. So we'll see how it all really looks once I get there. All I know for sure is that I'm a 16 hour bus ride away from Harare, and then I'll find out more once I get there. Oh, and that there's no internet.

The past couple days have also been crazy—we were in Chicago for launch, which was WONDERFUL because I was able to see my grandparents and aunt and uncle, and go to the Last Fling in Naperville, and worship and train with my squad. After Chicago, we went to New York City, had an overnight layover there where we were able to explore the city, and then to Atlanta, and then to a 16 hour flight to Johannesburg where we are now.

I'll provide more details later, but I'm about to watch the rest of the sunrise. I'll post pictures later once my internet is better as well. Sorry this is so rushed too and probably grammatically incorrect…I'm trying to do this as quickly as possible!

I love you ALL. Thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement, it means so much to hear it all.
