Tonight I sat down at my desk unsure of what to read. It has been quite the weekend and I really just wanted to get my quiet time done so I could get to bed. Although, in typical fashion, God seemed to laugh and show me something I really needed instead. So, without much thought, I randomly opened my bible to Romans 10.
This chapter is titled “Salvation Is For Everyone” and it talks about the simplicity of that very statement- the fact that everyone deserves the opportunity to fully know Christ, no matter what. I was reading and taking in the words when these verses hit me in a profound way-
13 For everyone who calls on the Lord will be saved. 14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?
Three verses summarize what it means to be a believer and I forget this more often than not. How can I expect people to know the beauty of a relationship with Jesus if they haven’t been told about him? Who is supposed to tell them anyways? The answer is simple. It’s me. Knowing Jesus and experiencing a life full of his glory is SO amazing. Because of my relationship with him, I have been called to tell people about him both at home and across the ocean.
Throughout this season of life I tend to consider myself busy, unable to sit back and allow God to work through me. But here I am reminded of how urgent and sweet it all is. God knows my heart. He has called me deeper into my walk with Him and it stems from humanities need to truly know Him better. Whether it be through my words or simply my actions, I pray that I can embody the Love of Jesus throughout my everyday life. Because seriously, how will anything about this world change unless I do something about it?
So here I am, overwhelmed with the reminder of my need for Christ alongside everyone else. Going on the World Race doesn’t magically make me this person who is perfect and focused on God 24/7, BUT, I pray that I get a little better with each day. Everyone really does deserve a life with Jesus and I want to do the best I can.
So, as usual, I hope my ramblings make a little bit of sense. Jesus is one awesome guy and I want people to know him. We are all made to go out and tell people the life that is found in faith because it is such a beautiful thing!
Thanks for keeping up with my blog– it is deeply appreciated. Subscribe at the top left corner of this page if you would like to receive a text or email whenever I blog. In just four short months I will actually be writing about what life on the World Race is like. How insane is that?
Much love,
Emily

It is still so crazy to receive all the love and support I have gotten. Please continue to pray for my team and I as we prepare for life in the field. As always, you can donate at the top of this page to support me financially if you would like to do so. Your support means the world to me and I literally could not do this without you.
