Nepal. For our last week of ministry we trekked through the mountains, stopping in villages to meet with people, talk to them, hear their stories, and to pray in whatever ways necessary. I was hesitant at first because I wanted to have a tangible way of serving, but as the week went on I felt a deep sense of God’s presence. I felt true Joy in the Lord as we sat there cooking breakfast with our host from the previous night, laughing over Nepali pancakes, listening to her talk about her daughter in school, and about life in the village. In that moment I felt hearts being softened and seeds being planted. I knew God was working in ways that are far beyond me. I left that cozy, wood burning kitchen with a sense of confidence in God. I think that represents our week in a nutshell.

The four days trekking were filled with many moments like that. I experienced what it meant to sit in awe of God in a whole new way. After a challenging few weeks of witnessing harsh poverty and wrestling with how rough the world can be, being able to see God in a natural and beautiful way was a breath of fresh air.
Nepal was a month of craziness. No days were the same and I was constantly feeling a million different emotions. Because of this, I started to learn how to better take things day by day and by the end I was able to get a sense of peace and joy because of the soft, comforting ways God is constantly moving.

My squad arrives in Zimbabwe in just a few hours. The fact that I’m already done with my time in Asia is wild. Please pray for everyone as we jump into this new season of being in Africa. I am so excited!!
