Hi friends!

I am just getting started with planning so I thought I would post an introduction!

My name is Emily, and I am 27 years old. I’m an intensive care unit nurse, based out of Northern California.

I have been doing missions for only 4 years, but recently God as moved on my heart to leave all comforts, all preconceived notions of what life is supposed to look like, and give it ALL to Him.

I have had it “all”, the “American Dream”: House, car, career, above average income, dog, travel, vacations, clothes…whatever I wanted. I achieved everything I set out to acheive, and I was still left wondering “what’s next? There has GOT to be more than this!”

At the same time, I have grown in my relationship with the Lord, and have been on 9 mission trips to Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Ethiopia, and I realized: I was made for this. I felt the the weight, of the “golden cuffs” of income, of my possessions. I have been blessed, that’s for sure. But I need to know, I need to display to Him and the world, that none of it matters without Him. What better way to show my devotion to the Lord by giving it all back. There’s nothing I need but Him.

So as I prepare for the World Race…I am selling my belongings, renting my house, and truly withholding NOTHING from Him. I am completely fulfilled by Him and His presence…and when I’m on the field, sharing the Gospel and LOVING people who have gone unloved….. there is nothing else that matters.

I’m excited for the Unscripted route of the World Race. What this means is our team will be ‘dropped’ into the country without set schedules or contacts….and we are completely depending on the organic Word from God about who, where, what, and when. We already know WHY.

I am comfortable right now. Short term missions are simple. Though they’re always challenging, being on an almost YEAR long trip with be revolutionary. I know that 11 months away from home, away from all the things I know, away from predictability…11 months of PURELY relying on the voice of God….its what I was made for.

So I thank you for reading. Thank you for joining me on this journey and for partnering with me as I seek the Kingdom here on earth and spread the news of His love to the people of the world.
