Echoing my other squadmates, I must say it is hard to believe it’s already been a month…. though so much has happened it feels like it’s been longer, too. We have learned about ourselves, each other, and most importantly the Lord and what we are called to in Him. It’s been absolutely incredible and I am still so overwhelmed with gratitude to be here.

There’s been a tension in me lately, and I feel led to hash it out here.

A lot of what I have posted (especially on Facebook and Instagram) has been of my team and I having fun. Going to a wedding, rock climbing, etc. We are enjoying life and exploring the world around us. Without “typical ministry hosts” or at churches doing programs, a lot of what you will see is us doing life, and having a blast.

However, you don’t see how many connections and relationships take place during the in-between. You can’t snap a photo every time you have a God conversation with someone because then, that somehow becomes the goal.

Sometimes, people’s stories are personal, deep, and private and it feels disingenuous to blog about them all the time. It doesn’t sit well with me. And honestly, I really haven’t been lead to share one at this point.

As someone journeying with me from back home, I hope you trust that with every encounter with every person we meet, whether it be local saleslady, international traveler, staff at a hostel….I am asking God how He wants to encounter them. Sometimes it leads to great things and other times it can be awkward (but there’s grace there!) Everywhere we go we carry the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, who communicates the Father’s love, who is drawing the hearts of His children back to Him. People are searching….they want to be found.

Personally, I have been answering the call to seek the Lord deeper and deeper each day. He has been leading me to be defensive of our time together and to not feel bad about it or worry about being left out of something. I want to be like Mary…I want to choose the better thing.

As I collect my thoughts as the Unscripted Squad moves to Thailand today….I will pray about whose story to share with y’all.

As always, love you, thanks for reading.
