Oh Costa Rica, you have done me so well! What a beautiful 3 months it has been with not one regrettable moment. Everyday has been an adventure, even the ones where I was stuck in bed sick for what seemed like forever. I’ll miss the sweet friends I have made, the ministry’s I was so lucky to participate in, and well you can’t forget about that gallo pinto every morning! The past 6 weeks we’ve been working with an organization called Cru at the University of Costa Rica. Cru was so amazing for me. Coming from a place with a ton of social anxiety; working alongside with Cru took that all away. I’ve been able to open up my heart and spread the word of Jesus to so many random strangers which I never thought in a hundred years I could see myself doing. Just going up to someone I didn’t know seemed scary enough. But I learned that God didn’t create me to be shy, but to rejoice in the fact that I am capable of sharing his glorious name! Cru really was a place that I felt comfortable, like I was at home even though my home is a million miles away. The people at the university had blessed us so much in making us feel welcome and helping us pour into others. They made our time in Costa Rica a billion times sweeter! A little piece of my heart was left in Costa Rica as I’m sure a part soon will be left in Cambodia.
Cambodia: 4 days of travel, 5 plane rides, totally missing out on Chik-Fil-A to catch the plane (literally like the saddest moment of my life), and extreme jet lag…. Worth every single second!!! It’s the third day here, and my first ministry day which was filled with a bunch of adorable kids running up, hugging me yelling “Teacha!! Teacha!!”, which I swear was the most precious thing! Being here even for the small amount of time it has been is such a beautiful blessing! I am seriously so excited to see what God has in store here! And I’m so excited to share what he has been and is doing!
