Having no expectations for the World Race is probably the best idea ever. Every day looks different and you usually have no idea what to expect. If you think about it, it’s kind of a crazy way to live life. Being open to what God has and since you don’t know what tomorrow will bring, it is easier to live in the moment.

In India, we had a few days of training before we split off into our teams. Each team was in a different village doing different things. Our schedule was quite set in stone but even with that it was incredibly flexible. We knew each night we would travel to a village and spend the evening ministering but we never knew how many stops there was going to be along the way or even where the final village was located. But it was wonderful and I loved every second.

Nepal has been completely different since it is all squad month this month! That means instead of breaking off into individual teams and traveling to different villages throughout the country, all 52 of us live in the same house and do ministry together. We are still broken up into different sections and given different tasks but we will all be together this whole month.

Our ministry hosts this month are incredibly kind and so in love with Jesus. They have an incredible team of people interning for them who are here to work with our team. Every morning, our hosts have set aside one hour for our whole team to have quiet time together. Praise the Lord it is on a roof looking out at the mountains. Is there a better spot for quiet time? Setting aside that hour has been so incredible. Just taking the time to be quiet with Jesus for a solid hour changes soooo much. It just gives you so much time to be aware of His presence and what He has to tell you for the whole day.

The first day of our ministry consisted of hiking a mountain and overlooking Kathmandu in order to pray for the city. We worshipped God in front of a Hindu temple and prayed that God’s fire would sweep through the city. The next day of ministry consisted of splitting up the squad and traveling to different slums in order to pray and minister to the people there. It is heart breaking to see so many lost people living in such poverty. One of the interns said that over 1,000 people share the same 4 squatty potties. Guess I can’t complain about having to share our bathroom with 15 people.

Our next day of ministry was soccer ministry! We played soccer and provided lunch for a bunch of the young men living in the slums. Our ministry hosts have been doing this for awhile and it was incredible that we were able to come alongside them and help share God’s love through soccer and food.

Tomorrow’s ministry…I have no idea what we will be doing. I am taking every day only one day at a time. God knows what tomorrow brings so I don’t have to worry and I just go with the flow! I know it will be an incredible adventure no matter what! Thank you for all the prayers my dear family and friends.
