One of my dearest friends named Lily from India wrote a short blog on some of her thoughts from our time there. I thank God everyday for the relationship we were able to build with Lily, I know that it will last a lifetime. She is a women of God full of so much wisdom. We spent a lot of our free time at her house sharing milk tea and having fruitful conversation. She allowed for us to dream big and pushed us closer towards God. I thank God for allowing me to have such a close sister in Christ who lives all the way on the other side of the world. Here are some of her precious words of wisdom:
Hello,
My name is Lily. I live in India,in the state of Manipur which is at the North-Eastern part of the country.I met my girls(Emmy Joy Shepherd,Emily Susan Baumgartner,Emily Jo Silcox and Mykayla Munley) after our Youth Service on a Friday night in the month of February.These girls are my sweet angels.They came to serve and served Him they did.I heard their stories,I see their enthusiasm to serve the Lord and their joy in serving.I see their perseverance despite hardships and I am deeply humbled witnessing it.
In Mark 16:17,Jesus said “Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”The girls preached to me in so many ways.Each day each of us fight a battle against sin and sometimes,it is not always a victorious day.Yet,each of these girls helped me imensely be it through the narration of their experiences or random Bible verses they quote.
Often they would ask me, “What can I be praying for you?”. A simple question and yet,so powerful and indeed gratifyingly to know that someone cares enough to ask that question. Lost, lonely and jaded by what has happened and is happening,many of us are struggling Christians and the girls brought light and joy everywhere they go. We often pray together,be it before we had our milk teas or maybe a light snack, holding hands and worshipping the Lord and I could feel the presence of the Lord in them. The girls from halfway around the world and this Indian girl praying togather in a snack stall, God’s marvellous plan in fruition.God is indeed good.My family and friends have been tremendously blessed by the girls.Thank you for coming to India,thank you for the love.
