As the launching countdown is rapidly coming to a close, I find myself more and more thankful for these past few weeks I’ve had with my family and friends. Since being home, I’ve spent countless hours with my high energy, almost two year old nephew whose choice questions are: Can I touch it? Can I eat it? Can I bite it? He asks these questions about grass, bugs and pretty much whatever his little eyes see. Being the only child in his family, he soaks up the majority of the attention, which proves necessary as he persistently asks to eat inedible objects.
One thing he and I have in common (Well, it may become two if eating bugs becomes a requirement on this trip.) is that we are both about to go through a major transition. My sister is due to have another baby any day now, and my nephew’s ego-centrical world is about to get rocked.
Recently, I had a reality check. While preparing for the World Race, my life has centered around my schedule, my packing, my time, and my continually growing ” to-do” lists. While these things aren’t necessarily bad and need to be taken care of, my life is about to converge with another fifty some lives and together we will morph into teams. Having met these marvelous individuals at training camp a month and a half ago, I look forward to going on this journey with them. My team will be launching to Malaysia in just a few days. Please keep us in your prayers, and I can’t wait to write you about what ministry opportunities we will have!
