I’m Emily Werness and September 10, 2014 just disappeared from my life.
After several hours of travel, L squad has safely arrived in Phnom Penh Cambodia!!
Our journey took us on four flights:
Atlanta to Dallas
Dallas to LA
11 hour layover at LAX
15 hour ride to China
3 hour ride to Cambodia
I was blessed to have a window seat on both the flight to China and Cambodia. Watching our plane descend from the clouds and seeing the rooftops of Cambodia get closer and closer, it hit me. I am on the World Race. I left the United States and I won’t be back for 11 months. It just got real. There was a twinge of sadness at knowing what I will miss at home, but the smile that spread across my face when we hit the Cambodian runway matched the excitement growing in my spirit.
