I’m Emily Werness and adios Asia, it’s been a real slice, but the time has come for the next leg of my journey with L squad: off to Africa for the next three months, starting with Uganda!!! Here is my month end VLOG which gives a look into what Vietnam was like: loving and getting to know University students as well as teaching them some English. This VLOG looks a little different than the other two I have done so far….so take a look and find out what I need your help with!

It’s Q & A time! At the end of months 3, 6, and 9 we will have this time for you to ask me anything you want to know about my journey so far on the Race. Just comment with your question(s) below, email me, or Facebook me and I will do my best to compile the answers to as many as I can and post them here. I will give you a couple of days to send me your questions and then depending on what internet looks like in Uganda I will post the answers as soon as I can!

Also, I kind of have some news.

Big news.

God sent me a Thanksgiving blessing, an early birthday present, and an early Christmas present all rolled into one….check it out! Drum roll please…………..

But, I knew this would happen. Since the moment I said yes to the World Race in response to God’s nudge, I prayed and said a million times, “I trust you.” If this is where you want me, the money will all come in. It’s not hard for you. I sit here, not surprised that my God did what seemed impossible to me because he is good, he is sovereign, and he loves me. I trust the plans he has for me. All I could do was trust and know that he is who he says he is – and wait for the day in his timing when it all would come together. Today is that day. And the only response I have is overwhelming joy and thankfulness, not only to my Father, but to ALL OF YOU!!! My family, friends, supporters – there are not words adequate enough for me to describe how grateful I am for all of your gifts, prayers, and encouragement – it is truly humbling. I love all of you and am so glad to share this journey with you!

I’m Emily Werness and here’s how I feel right now:

“Come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us give a joyous shout to the rock of our salvation! Let us come before him with thanksgiving. Let us sing him psalms of praise. For the LORD is a great God, the great King above all gods. He owns the depths of the earth, and even the mightiest mountains are his. The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too. Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the sheep under his care.”

-Psalm 95:1-7
