I’m Emily Werness and I am not strong enough.
My energy, my attitude, my checklists, my skills, my schedule, my plans….all not enough. When I start to try and add up what I bring to the table, it seems so insignificant and meager. My own strength is not enough and it will never be enough. My Father has been reminding me of this day after day, watching me struggle to do it on my own.
I know you’re there God and that’s awesome and I love you, but I can do this – I got this.
Really, do you daughter? Come to me.
I do not have this. I cannot. It overwhelms me. How arrogant of me to think I can try to live this life each day by my own strength?! My Father is my strength, my faith in him is what endures. He can do the impossible. His arms are open and waiting, asking me to trust and to leave my burdens at his feet.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” -Psalm 73:26
I cannot do this alone. I need God – we all do. The World Race, to me, is first and foremost about seeking Jesus and stems from an ache to know him more intimately and grow my relationship with him by living out the Gospel daily and reflecting his love to those around me. Let us all live this way – in dependence on him and a focus on what is unseen!

My first deadline is not too far away. I need to raise $3500 by June 27th. Anything you can give, no matter the amount, would be a huge help.
