This month in Nepal was amazing and I dunno how I am supposed to wrap it up in just one blog, so hold on to your horses here it goes.
Obviously if you know me, you are aware that I am not the kind of girl that likes to carry 15 lbs. on my back and hike straight up an incline for hours… it’s just not me lol. However in this case I had no choice because I signed up on the World Race to give up my expectations and rights to do whatever it is that my contact wants or needs. And what a better way to spend a month in Nepal with a hefty trekking adventure, this is the trekking capital of the world I think.
This has been a month of working things out with myself and God has been showing me Himself through me! I have been a slave to my past. Afraid to let go of the chains that I held onto for dear life… I am finally letting go, I am finally finding freedom, and I am finally being able to share that with others! God gives us mountains and valleys in our life. And I have definitely just been living in a valley, not being able to see anything except for how far away I was from awesome.
As I climbed the real mountains this month, I was literally climbing my own spiritual mountain as well! And now that I am at the top I LOVE the view! I love that God kept me in the valley and patiently waited for me to climb up to Him. He pursued me until I was ready to meet Him at the top. God has done some amazing things in my life that I can hardly even put into words where I am at in my faith right now and I never want to leave this place; I only desire to go deeper. I cannot wait to go so deep with the Lord that I cannot even remember how to come up for air.
The ministry part was almost as good as the view from the top of the mountain! Our ministry of showing a Jesus film was the most humbling thing I have ever experience. In the different villages that we went to, there were ranges from only 1 Christian to groups of 60! We casted out demons from a man’s house, we prayed over the health of a woman’s goat, we shared testimonies, stories, love, blessings and laughter with an assortment of people that didn’t even speak English.
All we did was plant the seed. We came, showed the film, prayed heavily for the village and left just as quickly as we had arrived. We have left it up for the Christians in the villages to continue watering the seed that we planted and then the growth of that will come from the Lord.
Just as Paul says in
1 Corinthians 3:6-9— I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. 9For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
We are just following out the plan that God has for us as a team, and the villagers as well! It is so exciting to be a part of this ministry and I pray that our team had an amazing impact!
(i was going to put pictures in this but the internet is too slow…such is life on the world race i suppose :] and i am not even mad lol )
