I know this is a few months late, but enjoy this video of our squad taking on the Nile River in Jinja, Uganda. It was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done, but I would give a word of caution to any future racers planning to try it: The Nile River is FULL of parasites! Just stuffed with them. So if you do it, to avoid ending up like the majority of us (i.e. getting a series of very aggressive, very persistent intestinal bacteria and parasites that you then have to try to rid yourself of in African squatty potties and ill-equipped African hospitals), try not to swallow any of the water, and since you inevitably will, consider getting a general anti-parasite/anti-worm pill and taking it the day after you raft. It might not help, but it’s certainly worth a try. The rafting was amazing, but the experience definitely stayed with us for the next month or so.
