So long Thailand!! I might write more blogs from last month, but for now, it’s time to wrap up Thailand since I’m writing this from Kenya. Last month was amazing in every way. It was by far my favorite so far on the race.

Number of nights that Tiffany became the live entertainment at the Rabbit Bar: 8
Number of tattoos that Team Wreckonciled got: 5
Number of meals that I LOVED: every single one
Number of times Joel stepped in dog poop: 2
Advice to future Racers
Drop ALL your expectations of Thailand. Seriously. They will tell you this about every month, but people seem to keep hold of their expectations the most about this month. Everyone has heard about sex slavery, prostitution, or the prospect of “Manistry” in Thailand, and everyone has their ideas of how they want God to use them. Just go ahead and check those at the door, because Thailand will surprise you, and God wants to surprise you too if you’re willing to let him.
If you come to Chiang Mai and work with Lighthouse in Action, be prepared to want to stay! You will LOVE Emmi!
Also, if you work at this ministry and stay at the Lighthouse Guesthouse, make sure you read the orange book with all the details of past World Racers’ ministries and ministries from other groups. Visit the Kitty Cat Bar and the Rabbit Bar, and say hello to all our girls from us!
Eat as much amazing Thai food as you can get. And don’t just order fried rice for every meal! The food in Thailand is about $1 a plate for the most incredible Thai food you can imagine, so take advantage of it because food on the rest of the race is not like that!
Be careful how much you buy at the Night Markets because you’re going to have to carry it for the rest of the race.
If you have Real Life participants join your team, or if you have World Race Exposure participants, treat them like normal members of your team. Let them in on everything. They might surprise you and end up being the wisest, most contributing member of your team that month. (Insert little shoutout to Kayla…we miss you!!)
Ministry Summary
I’m pretty sure this was the month when I blogged the most, and due the the awesome Kenyan Internet connection I’m working with, I’m not going to resummarize it all. If you want to read about all the cool things that happened, check out the last 13 blogs. I also posted some pictures in a couple albums on my Facebook page if you want to check them out!
Prayer Requests
Please continue to pray for Mae, Ning, and their families. Emmi has been updating us, and there are still many things happening in their stories. Ning’s husband being back in the picture has complicated things significantly for her. She needs to make a hard choice soon if she wants to still be eligible for immigration to Thailand. Also, pray for both of their hearts as they are starting their Bible studies through YWAM. We are praying for a complete transformation for both of them and an acceptance of their own worth in Christ. Please also pray for Emmi. She needs wisdom for all the hard decisions that she has to make regarding their situations. Also, please pray for continued financial support to come in for Mae and Ning, because Emmi still needs quite a bit more money to fund their new lives. If you are interested in being part of this, please see Part 9 of the blog series called Mae’s Story.
We are now in Eldoret, Kenya. Next week when we use the Internet again I’ll try to post some updates from here. We start our ministry tomorrow, so please keep us in your prayers. Please also continue to pray for our team’s health, as a few of us haven’t felt our best so far in Kenya. Thank you so much for your prayers, support, emails, and blog comments! Even though my updates will be less frequent from here on out for awhile, your love is still just as needed!
