It’s true. Just ask any of my friends…they help me a lot. Sometimes I can be really good at figuring out confusing, complex things, and really bad at understanding basic concepts or completing simple tasks.

For an obvious example of this, see my World Race packing efforts. Other examples of friend-help that Emily has received include: helping me pack and move in and out of Wheaton about 8 times (someday Lars might forgive me…), cooking me lots of food to offset my culinary illiterateness, doing basic subtraction for me every time it needs to be done, helping me open stubborn bottles of Diet Coke or water before I reach a level of frustration that causes me to grab the nearest pointy object and stab a hole in the bottle, and the crowd favorite…waking me up so that I don’t sleep through the major events in my life.
For all of these things I am truly grateful. I am also extremely grateful for the huge amount of help I received from my friends and family to be able to come on the World Race. My parents, aunt, uncle, and Kaylan helped me put on two very successful garage sales, which other friends and people from our church also donated to. The profits from these sales made up 10% of my entire support raising budget. So many of my other friends have also financially supported me, and the amount of prayer and encouragement over emails and blog comments that I have received continues to amaze me. My friends know how to love me well.
So, in the spirit of the classic Kevin Spacey/Helen Hunt movie, it’s time to pay it forward. Because of the help, love, and generosity of my many friends and family, I’m fully supported for the World Race. However, our squad has a deadline on April 1st to have $10,000 in each of our accounts or be sent home, and several members of the squad have not reached it yet. So, just in case you really miss loving me, doing things for me, and helping me navigate my way through the basics of life like grocery shopping and alarm clocks, you could support my squadmates and it would be pretty much the same thing!
The two people who need the most support right now are:
They each need about $4,000 by next week. If you would be interested in supporting them and ensuring that V Squad gets to continue our mission together, you can visit their blog sites and click on the Support Me tab on the left side under their pictures.
Thank you so much!
