This month was my favorite one on the race so far. Besides working with an incredible ministry and getting to see God work in dramatic ways, we also got to do lots of fun activities in and around Chiang Mai. I had heard about Thailand my whole life, and we were all ready to try the fun things that it has to offer. So, lest you start thinking that missionary life is all work and no play, let me tell you what we did in Thailand…
A group of us went to an elephant reserve outside of Chiang Mai to do a little elephant riding.
We shopped several really sweet markets…and bought a lot of pants.
We hiked up to a beautiful waterfall.
We floated down a river on a bamboo raft.
We lived with and hung out with another group from Washington that was working with Lighthouse in Action.
Some of us went to an elephant show.
The elephants can play soccer!
And paint!
We went to a Tiger preserve to play with the baby tigers and the big mama tigers.
We saw the giant panda at the Chiang Mai Zoo.
We fed the giraffes at the zoo too.
And, we went zorbing over the water…it’s pretty much a giant hamster ball on water, and it’s impossible to stand up!
