“We are all wonderful beautiful wrecks. That’s what connects us- that we’re broken all beautifully imperfect.”-Emilio Estevez

This quote says it all. We are all beautiful wrecks and we are all broken. We are beautifully imperfect and what’s amazing is that God cares so deeply about all of us! Personally I’ve never been in love with the term “being called” because I believe the Bible calls us all to the mission field which is all around us where we live. Matthew 28:19 says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” There is hurting people all around and we don’t have to go across the world to see that. Deep down in my heart I ache for people and I jump at the opportunity to see God’s beauty all around me. Psalms 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

Ever sense I was young I’ve had a fire for wanting to go and I was never afraid of what may be on the other side of the door. When I was in high School I went to NYC and served at a soup kitchen, and prayed for people out on the streets of Harlem at night. My favorite trip was going to El Salvador and Honduras my first year of college in 2009 on a sports ministry trip. We did not let talking to the kids in their language be a barrier for sharing the gospel or having fun. When we had to leave it was very heartbreaking and extremely difficult.

I want to see my heart grow more in love with God and his creation by going on a trip around the world. My heart aches for the heartbreak in this world and I so desperately want to love on his created and see if there is a place where God tugs at my heart more then another.
