It’s hard to believe that month seven is over. This year has gone by faster then I have ever expected. There are many things I expected.
Month one in Ecuador made me want to learn Espanol and that month I studied it a lot and tried really hard.
Month two, Peru while I expected to be in the mountains but found my self in the middle of the Desert and went sand boarding and had an American contact with a Peruvian wife. We did some labor work that month as well as VBS with children and English classes. That month my great grandmother died who was 102 died and I did not go home.
Month three, Bolivia was a month that My team went into the jungle and got to work with a medical team from the states and that was really neat for a week! The week after that we went back and went with a dentist who had been living in Bolivia but is from Columbia. We went and spent time with different villages off the beaten path that really needed medical care.
Month four, India my team and another team were at the same place but went to different ministries. India had such a beautiful culture all together, the food, clothing, and the people. The last week we all went to see the sunrise earlier in the morning. On the way down the van I wasn’t in went off the road and got in a bad accident but everyone in the van got out alive. There is still a lot of recovery from that accident though, one of the girls is now back home because of the accident she was paralyzed but we continue to pray for her! We miss her on the race!
Month five, there was a team change and we went to Nepal. We stayed in India another week because there was a big earthquake in Nepal right before we were going to leave India. While we were in Nepal in a village close to the epicenter we experienced the second earthquake (7.3m). While we were there we distributed food, water, and different supplies to people in different villages outside of the Kathmandu area and around it. We then left early for Malaysia and had a mini counseling debrief on a island there in Pangkor Island.
Month six, Malaysia my team worked with Bethel Assembly church. We went to many house churches and went to two funerals while there.
Month seven, my team worked with Light for Asia handing out Bibles and handed out over 11,000 Bibles to Chinese tourists & other tourists at the pier. We also helped out at a prevention preschool with the cutest kids and amazing teachers. Our other ministry was bar ministry every Tuesday with Tamar. We had a taste of a little bit of everything.
Now we are in Cambodia and starting month eight.
