A couple days ago I was on pinterest where I find myself some days when I get breaks between my different jobs. I was searching World Race things and I came upon the main one for “World Race!” On there pinterest they had a list of books that would be a good idea to read for the trip. There are many books on this list (board). One of the books on the list I saw around my house and I acually had started reading (first couple of pages). Not until today did I acually read more than those couple of pages and do I ever want to share everything that is in the book with you! The book is called “Love Does” by Bob Goff.
It really made me think about life in all aspect. What I really like was a story the author told about his friend and how he believed in him. This is what he says, “I learned that faith is not just about knowing all of the right stuff or obeying a list of rules. It’s something more, something more costly because it involves being present and making a sacrafice. Perhaps that’s why Jesus is sometimes called Immanuel- “God with us.” I think that’s what God had in mind, for Jesus to be present, to just be with us. It’s also what He has in mind for us when it comes to people. The world can make you think that love can be pickd up at a garage sale or enveloped in a Hallmark card. But the kind of love that God created and demonstrated is a costly one because it involves sacrafice and presence.”
What really got to me at the end of chapter one of the book was that every great story is all about what: Love Does.
