I am currently sitting in the Las Angles airport on a 9 hour layover. Yesterday morning at breakfast among squad mates we discussed the length of this travel “day.” I commented, “At least we have each other.” To which my two gentleman friends responded in unison, “Awwwe.”
I didn’t mean to be sappy but the truth is this year will be in community 24/7. I will eat, sleep, do ministry, take my days off, and travel with my teammates. Good or bad we have each other.
So where are we traveling to?? Cambodia.
I will be working in the capital city, Phnom Penh. My team of six will be contributing to Unsung Heroes. This is a program of Adventures in Missions that seeks new ministries and hosts to connect with. The goal is to search for small ministries that have the capacity to host a team in the future. These ministries are not as simple to find as a Google search, instead we will network in the community to find contacts.
As we pursue God as to how to do this ministry I ask that you would also pray for us as well. Pray for safety and open doors from the Lord. We desire to be led by His spirit and to build His kingdom with our time in Cambodia.
I also have a route change to update you all with. When we get to Africa instead of going to South Africa, Swaziland and Botswana, we are now going to be in Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia. These countries will be very different than we were expecting, but as a squad we have embraced this change and we are looking forward to the plan that God has for us there.
With that said, I will be in Cambodia in a few hours and there will be more to come soon!
