Life has just been moving along so fast and I want to regroup and let you all know what's been happening here and where we're off to next!

On Saturday I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and was so blessed to be able to spend the entire day with my family and friends.

After a long day of packing, cleaning, and stuffing everything we could into the back of my car, the house I have lived in for the last two years was completely empty. My roommates and I left our keys on the table and I turned off the lights and ran out of the garage jumping over the sensor, one last time. During this season of lasts, this was the final step until I head home to Des Moines.

I felt like I was saying goodbye to such a huge part of my life and an identity that I will never regain. I am no longer a roommate. I am not student at UNI. I am not a nanny. I am not a resident of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

I had waited for all of these things to come to an end before I allowed myself to think about the next phase of life and assume the identity that comes with it. I am now a graduate of UNI. A squadmate. A World Racer. And by the end of next week I will be a teammate.

Training camp is only 4 days away!!

On Saturday I get to meet the awesome people on my squad that I've only kinda been introduced to through facebook. They look pretty neat =) Our squad (Q squad) and R,S, and T squads will all spend a week camping out in some town in northern Georgia. Training camp is mostly kept secret, but sometime during the week we find out who will be on our team of 6-7 people.

I am so excited to meet everyone in person, because I am positive that facebook does not do their sweet personalities justice and I am so happy to have been able to communicate a bit with a couple of them before we actually meet. It still scares me out of my introverted pants to be thrown into a mix of 55 strangers, but I know by the end of the week what's strange is going to become familiar and comforting. From what I have seen, everyone on my squad is so unique in what they can offer and I love that and find so much peace in knowing that the Lord brought all of us together for His wonderful purpose and I am so ready to meet the people that I'll do life with for the next year!

Prayer requests:

  • For Q squad to make the ultimate comeback in squad wars.

  • Unity within the squad and our new teams

  • For me personally to open up to the people I meet and not become overwhelmed

  • Peace Saturday morning with my flight to GA, because the butterflies have already arrived

I can't wait to introduce you guys to my team and tell ya about the week!
