In an effort to stay healthy this year, O-Squad has implemented something called the “Health Challenge”. Every month, each team keeps track of their diets and exercise habits in order to earn points for things like eating fruits and veggies, not having sugary drinks, or spending twenty minutes doing physical activity.
The fact is, it can be really hard to stay healthy on the Race. We have very little control over what food we eat and not every living condition lends itself to working out. So the point of the Health Challenge is to encourage and motivate us to stay healthy… but there’s also the incentive of a $10 cash reward for the team that acquires the most points.
For the first couple of months, my team won the Health Challenge with back-to-back victories, but then in Albania our reign was overthrown by Team GPS. So this month in Bulgaria, Team TAE was exceptionally motivated to win the Health Challenge and take back our victory. Plus, the whole squad is participating in a 5k in just a few days, so we needed to do a little training.
Throughout the month I grabbed my camera while we worked out so I could throw together a little video to intimidate the rest of our squad. Here is the result:
