I would like to briefly update you on an exciting development in my World Race journey.

Adventures in Missions (AIM) is starting a new program called the “Unsung Heroes Campaign”. Basically, AIM/the World Race needs more ministry contacts around the world, so they’re appointing people on the field to actively look for such contacts and set up partnerships. In addition to expanding their network, AIM is also interested in identifying "unsung heroes" in ministry around the world. They consider an unsung hero to be someone who is "dedicated to serving some of the most impoverished populations in the world, [especially if the 'hero'] rarely receives recognition for their dedication and service."

I was recently chosen to be one of the two “Logistics Coordinators” for this program on my squad. My partner for the year is the lovely miss Shannon McGowan. I'm so excited about this position, for many reasons.

Firstly, working with UHC puts me in a position to meet a lot of really awesome people around the world – people who are already running really fruitful, successful ministries. I’ll get to contact these people, screen them based on criteria from AIM, and potentially set up appointments to work with them and/or assess the possibility of a partnership with AIM.

In addition to the fact that I get to help AIM expand their ministry around the world, I also get to do a lot of personal research. On the logistics side of things, I’ll be updating a massive database through AIM with all kinds of information on these contacts. I'll get a unique, inside perspective of many ministries around the world and along the way I'll get to identify some of the countless "unsung heroes" of the Kingdom and draw them into the spotlight where they'll have more access to resources and international recognition.

Each month, a different team on O-Squad will be in charge of finding Unsung Heroes of the current country we're in. Next month, Shannon's team (Love Story) will be spear-heading the search for contacts in El Salvador, so she and I are spending the afternoon starting the logistics work to help them get started.

We're headed to El Salvador on Saturday, and it's a bittersweet feeling. In the mean time, I'll be finishing up ministry here in Honduras and working on UHC logistics for next month.

Much love!
