For the past 10 days my team and I have been staying at a very small village near Hyderabad, India. We did door to door praying, preaching God’s word to different villages, and some evangelism. When we first got there I definately wasn’t excited after staying in a nice apartment with air conditioning, hot showers, etc. The place we stayed at in the small village wasn’t even a finished building, had all sorts of creatures living in there, and no shower at all. So I had a pretty terrible attitude about the days to come.
It’s so awesome though how God can change your attitude in an instant. The first night of ministry, pretty much all six of us weren’t feeling it. We were tired and just not excited about the living arrangements. But as we walked into the first village of ministry, within the first 5 minutes we were praying for a man with leprosy. The instant we started praying, I felt the Spirit fall. Tears were just streaming down my face the Spirit was so thick. Our translators later told us that the villages are filled with demons and witchcraft, and the whole team agreed we could all feel the spiritual battle.
The second day, I preached my first sermon!! Ha! Who knew that would ever happen. It was also the first day I actually felt led to share a word from the Lord. It was such a good experience and it definately gave me boldness and allowed me to feel very empowered. I preached another time a couple of days later to a different village and my passion to share the truth about God was just errupting from inside of me. This village was all Hindu believers and I knew God wanted me to just keep it simple, to simply say how much He loves them, how much He wants to be intimate with them. I wanted them to know so badly that we cared for them and we wanted to see them in heaven someday. When I was finished talking, the crowd of people were pretty silent and several people slowly came up for prayer. As we were leaving though, one lady ran up to us and said she wanted to know our God, that she wanted to receive Jesus into her life! FIRST SOUL WIN FOR JESUS! SO AWESOME!
