Our main ministry here is
house-to-house ministry. We basically walk around everywhere and talk to people
about Jesus & then pray for them. Good times.
However this week I was discouraged. Everywhere we go people tell
us they are saved. “What’s discouraging about that? you might ask. Well it’s
discouraging because people tell us that so that we will leave. Not everyone,
but most. So I had to revamp my vision…lifting it higher as I asked God again,
“Why have You brought me here?
And everything within me shouts “Bring them deeper. So rather than just
ask them if they know Jesus, the goal is switched to bringing them an encounter
with Him. Beautiful!
We, as a team, gathered together Friday morning for prayer &
as we did, we prayed for something MORE than just everyone already being saved.
We wanted to see God do more…something BIGGER. And off we went to do ministry.
First stop, SUSAN’s house. We didn’t
know her nor did we know we were off to her house. But God did. He was
answering her prayer & ours. She has been sick for months & the doctors
don’t know what is up. We comforted. We prayed. And Holy Spirit fell in her
home. Healing wasn’t immediate but she was at peace afterward. She is a
believer, for real, and her faith was inspiring to us.
Then we went back to visit Margaret.
And she was there & things went well. She remembered us and let us come in
and pray with her. With just 3 of us in her house, she confided in us some deep injustices done to her. It
was heartbreaking & puzzling. We talked with her about bitterness & unforgiveness…about how they hurt US more rather than hurting the person we are mad at.
She is choosing, at least in that moment, to walk in forgiveness toward her
husband. It was beautiful to be apart of. However it was sad too. Because in 5
short days we will all leave & the relationship we’ve built with her will
end. I know God has her & is working in her life, so she is in great hands.
I just want to be with on the rest of the journey with her. (And she came to church on
Sunday! These are HUGE steps!!)

Marcy)
So God continues to answer our
prayers more and more…especially when we become dissatisfied with the “normal
and begin to pray Bigger, Bolder prayers! God is so good!!
~Random Story~
*I love the question I
get about where my parents are from. I especially love it when I gain another
country. So far I have Lebanon, Qatar, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Turkey…I don’t remember the others. However tonight (Saturday) our
contacts wife asked me if I had any relatives from Africa!!!! Yes! Yes! Yes!
She couldn’t believe when I said none! She assured me that people wouldn’t
think I was a mzungu if she & I were walking down the street. (Mzungu: A
white person, non-african of course.) She claimed they would just think I was
her friend from Africa. Absolutely wonderful! Especially because…I often forget that I am white until someone
randomly shouts “Mzungu.
